Hi! I'm Liz, a passionate photographer who loves capturing beautiful images and telling stories that awaken emotions that words alone cannot express.
As the owner and photographer of Photography by Liz at the Cowshed, my main objective is to use my expertise and skills to help you and your family (including pets!) feel confident and at ease in front of the camera. I am passionate about what I do and truly love my job.
Cameras have been a significant part of my life since my teenage years, so I have numerous years of valuable experience. I have achieved success as a sought after professional wedding photographer, have been published in nationally, and have previously worked on freelance projects for charities abroad. In addition to my photography skills, I am also a qualified and experienced teacher. This background has made me an effective tutor and I am regularly invited to judge photography competitions, critique portfolios, conduct practical sessions, and give talks.
More recently I have had a run in with aggressive cancer. This gave me the kick up the backside to open my small, but perfectly formed studio. I am determined to offer a fun and safe place for everyone to feel the best they can about themselves. Warning - I turn photophobes into photophiles!
Whether you are posing in front of the camera or learning from me as a tutor, you can be confident that you are in safe and capable hands.
Although it is not a legal requirement, I have a DBS (safeguarding) Certificate.

Our homely studio is nestled in rolling countryside, in the lea of Llancayo Windmill with the River Usk on its boundary. This is truly a magical setting, which lends itself to experiencing photography in a relaxed and safe place, even for the most camera shy individual.
Whilst we do offer familiar studio and outdoor sessions, we truly thrive on capturing something different and special. We understand the fleeting nature of life and the importance of making lasting memories. That's why we have designed some truly exceptional experiences to freeze moments in time, evoke deep emotions, and create cherished memories for you. Our aim is not just to take a picture, but to celebrate who you are, the emotions you feel, and the connections you share with your loved ones in a truly extraordinary and personal way.
