Not all photography is equal

For most owners, a photoshoot with their horse happens once, maybe twice, in a lifetime. The images should be more than “nice”. They should take your breath away for years, every time you look at them.

I combine fine-art lighting with real patience around animals, so your horse stays calm and the images feel effortless, whether that’s a golden-hour field portrait or a moody stable shot.

Where I shoot

Most clients choose the place where their horse is kept. Variety helps: pathways, long grass at field edges, woodland, and crops (with permission, staying in the tramlines). A stable or barn lets me create darker, dramatic portraits, and hay bales are a real bonus. If your yard is limited, it’s worth asking nearby. We just need the landowner’s permission.

You were fabulous to work with - so creative yet calm around Luna. You brought out the best in us and the result are breathtaking!

Frequently asked questions

Does my horse need to be perfectly behaved?

No, but all animals need to be under control. Safety comes first, so I may ask you to use a lead rope or bring a helper. Ropes and guiding hands can be edited out.

How should I prepare?

You’ll get a full guide when you book, covering grooming, tack, outfits, and health and safety.

Can I bring a helper?

Yes, and I recommend it. A friend who knows your horse can hold, fluff manes and shake a bucket of cob nuts to catch attention for ears-forward shots!

What if the weather is bad?

We’ll watch the forecast together and move the date if we need to. [Rearranging for weather is free.]

How far do you travel?

Travel is included within 20 miles of Usk. Further afield, I’ll give you a quote.

When do I pay?

A £95 non-refundable booking fee secures your date, with £100 due before the agreed location scouting visit and the balance is due 7 days before the shoot. If you choose à la carte, prints and products are paid for at your viewing, by card or bank transfer. See the terms and conditions.
