Family, dog and headshot photographer near Newport
The Cowshed is my countryside portrait studio at Llancayo Court, just outside Usk. From Newport it’s about 20 minutes up the A449. The River Usk runs through both places, but out here you get fields, trees and free parking right outside the door.
Family portraits, without the stress
Getting everyone out of the door is usually the hardest part, so I keep the rest simple. A short call covers outfits, timings and who’s coming. Your 60-minute session includes up to 6 people or pets from one household.
I was a teacher for over 20 years, so wild toddlers and reluctant teenagers don’t faze me. Nobody has to say cheese. We play, we move, and the natural photos happen in between. See family photography.
Your dog, on a good day
Sessions go at your dog’s pace, with sniffing, playing and treats before the camera comes out. Up to 6 dogs from one household are included, and nervous dogs are welcome if you tell me beforehand. See dog photography.

Cover the Bases, £295: 60 minutes and up to 2 outfits, with 12 retouched images.

Questions from Newport Clients
Is your studio in Newport?
No. It’s at Llancayo Court, just outside Usk, NP15 1HY. Visits are by appointment.
Is the studio accessible?
It’s on one level, with a slightly raised threshold, wide doors and a large toilet with a support frame.
How easy is it from Caerleon, Langstone or Cwmbran?
All three are a similar short drive, an easy an pretty route through the countryside and there’s free parking on site.
Can you photograph us in Newport instead?
Yes. Travel is free up to 20 miles from Usk and then 20p per mile afterwards. Get in touch and I’ll give you a quote that includes travel.
